I've been meaning to write this for ages, but life's been busy & I kept finding more links. So it's turned into a bit of a hodge-podge of links & tweets. Am hoping it can be of use to someone if you get into an argument...

Except is anyone being investigated? Does the press talk about it even a *fraction* of what they do with Hillary? No. Double standards.

It was investigated 10 years ago when it happened. A bunch of Bush BNFs resigned over it including Karl Rove.

That there is a double standard when it comes to women. And it's one we've seen in action wrt Hillary for as long as she's been around.

A lot of people are saying how they'd love a female president, just not Hillary. But she's the only one who's had the stamina to keep going, so that's who we've got.

But that's what I was talking about, and that's what a good deal of this post is about. If you go look up coverage of her email scandal it is vastly out of proportion to the deed.

F.ex. Colin Powell has not been submitted to the same scrutiny (because the emails are not important, and he & Hillary did the same thing). But Hillary is a woman, and the GOP hates her. Ergo, everything is a scandal.

Yes, there has been media bias. I especially hate the commentary about her voice. (Have they listened to Bernie or Trump??) But politics is a nasty game, and Hillary knows this. I have to be fair and admit that at times it seems like she is complicit in creating some of the problematic optics - I'm talking about optics, not actual dishonesty. But optics are something the Republicans will run with like wild dogs with a piece of meat.

If you are able to check out last night's Rachel Maddow Show where she discusses the new Trump deputy campaign manager, David Bossee, do so. And buckle up.

Hillary must win this election. The world depends on it.

Well, it's a catch-22, or a vicious circle. The media have a bias against her, and have had one since forever. In response, she has grown to dislike and distrust the media, and has a bias against them. (See her lack of press conferences.)

OTOH she is great at quite simply carrying on. Her stamina is second to none.

There is absolutely a double standard for Hilary because she is a woman. (Just as there is/was one for Barack because he is black). It makes me crazy because Trump has done a ton of shady stuff but he rarely gets called on it.

Does anybody really care about Hillary Clinton's emails? It's such an arcane topic, and EVERYBODY uses Gmail - especially when they don't want their employers to know that they're looking for another job. I really think that most voters don't give a shit.
