Because sometimes Spike is even more beautiful than usual...
I don't have time to reply to comments (yet), but having skimmed the thread for AOQ's review of 'Lessons' I discovered that there are people who don't think Crazy!Spike is drop dead gorgeous. So I felt compelled to make a poll.
And just in case you've forgotten, here's a manip by
sueworld2003 (I think - if it's not, please correct me!) to remind you...

Anyway, here's one of AOQ's replies:

Exactly. I can see why OBS keeps mentioning how easy it is to forget,
but *the chip doesn't work on Buffy*. He can be himself with her, as
he proved in "Seeing Red." Spike frames his choice as being about
Buffy, not just about himself. Only the soul can change the way things
are between them. (Also, he's wanted the chip out for a long time, so
why not face the trials sooner?)

He also put down burt beautifully, lets see if I can find it...
Ah yes. Burt had gone off on some bizarre rant about the angry Spike fans and Joss trying to launch Firefly and therefore he ret-conned Spike's story. This was AOQ's reply:
Back when I was new at this, I made the mistake of making an
unsupported blanket statement about writer motivations, and Mike Zeares
responded that "this is the kind of criticism that I don't have time
for." I know where he's coming from. Not only is this pure
speculation based on pretty much nothing, but the "retconned" story is
all there, clunky misdirect and all, starting with "Seeing Red."

And Burt, ppft!! I don't get how someone can obviously be intelligent and still apparently can't conceive of the fact that Spike was NOT the same 'person' in S6 as he was in S2. Apparently character growth and change, if one is considering a vampire, is beyond his comprehension. He's almost as rigid as 3DMaster in that regard.
And speaking of 3D, did you notice he never, ever came back? For most of S6 I was expecting him to swoop in with his noxious 'S rapes B' rants, but he never showed. Perhaps my comment about his lack of...ahem... life experiences hit a bit too close to home *big, big GRINS*. Thank god, tho, coz I don't think I could have taken much more of him.
thanks again for the snippets sweets.

My pleasure. And I did think it'd be nice to have them somewhere more... accessible!
Now, it's making me want to go and read the whole Grave thread.
Argh! No! Seriously - I am *so* fed up of S6 right now you wouldn't believe! OK, so there's some good stuff, but I wouldn't say it's worth it.

Oh Buffy's just as bad. She *smiled* at Spike's joke about killing her friends, it means that she has no heart! (There is not enough sarcasm in the world when dealing with this gyu, altough I always try to stay pleasant. What's the point of sinking to his level?)
I don't think I could have taken much more of him.
In my mind he has become 'he who shall not be named'. *scrubs out brain*

makes me wonder if there's any char on the show that he does like...

And it's all Spike's fault!
