Blurb: This year’s Christmas ad from Sainsbury’s. Made in partnership with The Royal British Legion, it commemorates the extraordinary events of Christmas Day, 1914, when the guns fell silent and two armies met in no-man’s land, sharing gifts – and even playing football together.

It's just gorgeously made.

Did you know, after this, none of the men could fire on each other. They had to be shipped out to somewhere else and new soldiers brought in to replace them. It really makes you think that the war could have ended much sooner if we'd just treated each other like fellow humans.

Yes, I know. Which shows again that you cannot shoot at anyone once you have learnt their name and saw pictures of their kids. This is why I try to make friends with as many people as possible all over the world - thanks to LJ and the internet - if we just all get to know each other better then we will realize there is nothing to fear, but just to learn from the differencies - and find out a few similarities maybe as well. We are all people in the end.

I also think there would not be any wars if the politicans that think of them had to fight in them instead of the ordinary people.
