The state of my foot.

So I went to A&E this morning. And I've got to hand it to the NHS - I was in and out within the hour. Am impressed. (Good, friendly service too!)

Anyway, they did an x-ray of my foot, looked at it (the x-ray) and said I had a tiny fracture. The upshoot is that now I'm wearing one of these:

Mind you, it's a lot better than a pot! But my mobility is rather restricted. So, since I have TIME (and can't move easily) and also have Netflix - is there anything I MUST watch? (Or read, for that matter.)

Note: Am already reading GoT (have sort-of started book 4, am pacing myself now), and am not interested in watching the show. (Never say never, but the books are enough for me.)

Plans so far: An Unearthly Child, The Daleks, The Edge of Destruction. (I have these on DVD!) Also Press Gang. ETA: And House of Cards, which is on Netflix. Actually, that might be plenty for now...

Background: Saturday morning, at the crack of dawn, the cat decided he wanted to get out and went 'Letmeoutletmeoutletmeoutletmeout' (well, he went 'Miaow! Miaow! Miaow! Miaow!, but it was obvious what he wanted) and - as I was obviously the only one who could hear him - I decided to let him out before he started tearing holes in the carpet to attract further attention.

What I learned: Do not walk down stairs when you are not awake. Because you might think you are at the bottom when you are not. And then you'll end up in a painful heap on the floor and your foot will hurt.

Yuck.Foot injuries are no fun. Here's hoping you have a swift recovery.

I could give you tons of suggestions for both reading ad viewing but they would mostly consist of anime and manga. I am woefully behind in other types of reading and viewing. Though now might be a time for a rewatch of Buffy, Angel or Firefly if you're feeling nostalgic.

When I was recovering from foot surgery I took up a new hobby. I started knitting, but if there's anything different you've been meaning to learn, it's a good time to start.

Hope your feel better soon.

and if you aren't adverse to trying anime and/or manga I would suggest Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood as an anime you might like or the Fullmetal Alchemist manga. Both are fantastic and should be available on Netflix or in the library.

Yeah, chores help a lot to pass the time. Plus you get that sense of accomplishment that binge watching TV doesn't quite match (binge watching is more fun, just no accomplishment).

Now I feel craft inferior, although I do manage to knit pretty obsessively regularly still. I'm just about to finish a sweater, then on to Christmas socks.

if you think I flail about FMA here you should see my tumblr, it's pretty much a cycle between FMA, Ao No Exorcist, knitting and pictures of stars.
