The state of my foot.

So I went to A&E this morning. And I've got to hand it to the NHS - I was in and out within the hour. Am impressed. (Good, friendly service too!)

Anyway, they did an x-ray of my foot, looked at it (the x-ray) and said I had a tiny fracture. The upshoot is that now I'm wearing one of these:

Mind you, it's a lot better than a pot! But my mobility is rather restricted. So, since I have TIME (and can't move easily) and also have Netflix - is there anything I MUST watch? (Or read, for that matter.)

Note: Am already reading GoT (have sort-of started book 4, am pacing myself now), and am not interested in watching the show. (Never say never, but the books are enough for me.)

Plans so far: An Unearthly Child, The Daleks, The Edge of Destruction. (I have these on DVD!) Also Press Gang. ETA: And House of Cards, which is on Netflix. Actually, that might be plenty for now...

Background: Saturday morning, at the crack of dawn, the cat decided he wanted to get out and went 'Letmeoutletmeoutletmeoutletmeout' (well, he went 'Miaow! Miaow! Miaow! Miaow!, but it was obvious what he wanted) and - as I was obviously the only one who could hear him - I decided to let him out before he started tearing holes in the carpet to attract further attention.

What I learned: Do not walk down stairs when you are not awake. Because you might think you are at the bottom when you are not. And then you'll end up in a painful heap on the floor and your foot will hurt.

I guess daytime TV is crap everywhere in the world... then again, I hardly watch any German TV anymore, only British one LOL

But exactly, because JB! I just heard that next week the show will move to BBC2, not sure why, but just so that you don't search in the wrong place for it or think it ended.

To be honest, I didn't like the show much last year, I felt he was just reading the questions and nothing special. But something must have changed this year. He is more himself? He is singing, he is dancing, he is joking around, and often laughing himself silly at some of the answers. Last week by coincidence one team even had a man who's working as a postman and he delivers John's mail! He asked how he liked his front door LOL

It's really great fun, and also you learn something. And the Pressure Pad itself is quite cool.

I'm a bit behind and watched only episode 2 today, which had aired last week (it's on daily at weekdays), and I am always happy when he has to speak a bit of German LOL They asked which day of the week the German word Donnerstag would mean. The guy got it wrong and I was amazed that this is assumed to be general knowledge! They also had a question from which country Stollen is, and I live in Dresden, where the best Stollen comes from, it is quite famous. So obviously I would have gotten that one right ;) The guy said England though. Must be because of all the German Christmas markets that you have now, we went to the one in Birmingham, it was amazing.

LOL Donnerstag means Thursday. The guy got it wrong and thought Wednesday. It literally translates to thunder-day.

Maybe the way John pronounced it ;) Dresdner Stollen is a brand name and they get sent into the whole world from here, especially to America. They have special packages even, with our city's silhouette:
