Eeee!!! The Bad Wolf in the poster is making me very intrigued. (Also glad it seems to be pointing toward the Time War, rather than the Valeyard I saw some people insisting Hurt is, which is gratifying because it ties the two halves of the show together.)

Oooh me too! Esp because it's Moffat and he'll *do* something with it, rather than just use it as a short hand.

Also glad it seems to be pointing toward the Time War, rather than the Valeyard I saw some people insisting Hurt is, which is gratifying because it ties the two halves of the show together.
*nods* I think people just got so excited by the mention of the Valeyard in the finale that they jumped on it. Even though Eleven states quite explicitly that John Hurt!Doctor is his *secret* and the Valeyard isn't a secret...

Oh, I wouldn't doubt that it starts as a shorthand and swiftly becomes something more.

Possibly… though I also saw it in the context of "It's RTD's Time War; Moffat better not touch it and the Valeyard makes more sense anyway." Which, given I pretty much ignore Who fandom now, I'm just going to ignore. Haters can go away.

But I'm really, really looking forward to what we'll find out! :D

What I mean is that Rusty used it as short hand (ROSE: "I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself. I take the words... I scatter them in time and space. A message to lead myself here."/Bad Wolf Bay etc), whereas Moffat will probably dig into the symbolism beneath. Rose looks like Little Red Riding Hood, yet has that monstrous side... Duality. And danger. Very Clara, also. (Mmmm, I'm already looking forward to the Rose/Clara paralelling.)

Absolutely! I have no doubt that if it is in fact the Time War, that Moffat got as much help from RTD as he was able to give. Because there's a difference between not co-writing and being available, if only rarely, for advice.

Yup. It's a lovely shorthand (for things like the poster), but it can so very easily be expanded! :D
