Hello!

I'm here. Have been the whole time, but omg I haven't had proper time off since the summer, so I've been spectacularly lazy (and happy). Also we've spent a lot of time with family.

A quick roundup of stuff.

Meta: The Memory of Snow: The Snowmen by [livejournal.com profile] lonewytch. I will write a post myself, but you should all read this first, as she's laid everything out beautifully. My post will be in addition to what she's written, so if you want to delve into the themes & imagery, her post is your port of call for now.

One Mississippi - vid by [livejournal.com profile] kaydeefalls. Summary: Can I only change your history for a day? Time travel, paradoxes, and breaking all the rules. (The Doctor and his Companions. Beautiful.)

Also we watched Brave (which was wonderful), the last half hour of Time Burton's Alice in Wonderland (which was so wrong, in so many ways, that I don't even know where to begin. Which is a shame, because it looks brilliant, and there are a ton of good female characters), and last night Tron, which is just amazing and one of the most stunning movies ever made. (No I haven't seen the new one.)

Hopefully will be posting fic (next chapter of Dating) and maybe even Snowmen meta later on. For now, have all my Merlin thoughts (well most of them) summed up in a single graphic:

I LOVED the ending. Loved, loved, loved.

ETA: Oh, and I think I will write a book. Basically I finally found a way of wrenching Alex out of Doctor Who, and I have done it so thoroughly that pretty much nothing will remain of that 'verse. For starters I turned him into a girl... (Although Allison will still be there, just as a BFF. Basically everything is currently world building and plotting and I'm having a blast living in the Maybe*.)

*See 'The Writers Tale' for an explanation of 'the Maybe' if you're not familiar

I LOVED the ending. Loved, loved, loved.

I loved it too. It broke my heart and made me happy at the same time.

Yay! Book!
