I have read the whole thing and I tell you this: he is a true Christian and a man of God and his faith. I'm NOT Christian, but I am very proud to call myself this man's sister in humanity!!

Most of them are just ordinary people... As far as I remember, support for gay marriage is pretty high amongst ordinary Catholics, f.ex. It's just the higher up ranks that feel the need to be inflexible/are scared of change/whatever. (This is the merest snippet of a much longer argument in my head, but I don't have time to write it now.)

I had this conversation with my BiL a few days ago and made the same points. His stance was that what the Bible says is a sin shouldn't be legal. When I quoted the Bible I was twisting it to suit myself but he was standing firm in his faith.

Obviously. Although I do wonder how you (anyone - not you specifically) can twist this. If Jesus told the story of the Good Samaritan today, I'd bet you the Samaritan would be gay.
