I'm sure she was cast for a reason other than cuteness, so I'm perfectly prepared to like her. But saying goodbye to the Ponds will be HARD. (I'm not sure I'd class the Ponds as 'cute'. Amy was stunning, but too difficult to ever be cute.)

I found Amy cute because she looked so young (stunning but baby-faced) and it's a word I associate with girls, not with woman. Rory's cuteness is more about his attitude.

Concening the new cast companion, she looked very fake on the first picture I saw (it was either heavy make-up or photoshop) so now I'm wondering whether she's plastic (ala Centurion!Rory). She could be a robot! If the Ponds' exit is tragic, The doctor might want a companion who would not die...

She also have a certain Tennantness about herself (if David were a girl with round features!).

I don't know about a non human companion. Wasn't the point of the companion that he/she was human while The Doctor was one?

Well, yes, but the show has been back long enough for people to know the Doctor very well indeed (again). And I can certainly see the potential in the Doctor having to explain humanity to someone from a different background/time. *throws hands up* Basically The Moff obviously has something up his sleeve, and - from the various cryptic clues he's dropped, I think it's going to be *something* different from yet-another-21st-Century-girl. (Not that I haven't adored them all, but I could see him doing something completely different.)

Well I know that she's cute, that she likes ugly jumpers (\o/) and that she's an actress. Am very much looking forward to seeing what she'll bring to the show, as I always default to liking stuff on principle. (See icon which I acquired mere days after Matt had been revealed and knew NOTHING about him.)
