- Am tired, but today was a lovely spring day which made me happy. Which reminds me - many thank yous to green_maia for the sapling! ♥

- Mark's review of 'Hush' was everything I expected. Bless. He's a very excitable puppy, isn't he?

- My writing time is next to nil. This is a sad state of affairs. Stupid busy RL.

- Someone should make a River/Doctor vid to Lana Del Rey's 'Born To Die'. (Seriously, those lyrics!)

- New Companion looks nice. *has no opinion so far, but is naturally positive* (BBC News interview w/Jenna (youtube) + Press Conference w/Jenna & Moffat (transcript) Spoilers in the latter one.)


ETA: 10 O'Clock Live is LOVE. The level of snark and sarcasm is near lethal, but oh, is it ever needed... (Did you see last week's? I never knew that David Starkey was a misogynist, but wow. That was some quality 'Sexist Male Privilege Being Called On Its Bullshit'. Am still in awe.)

Which reminds me - is anyone watching Watson & Oliver? Female comedy duo (have we had one since French & Saunders?), and actually funny! <3

Mark makes my 5 1/2 month Havanese who literally bounces off the furniture and walls look calm by comparison.

I can't help but wonder what it must be like to live in such a CONSTANT state of PURE EXCITEMENT and SHOCK. He'll have a heart attack before he's 30 if he keeps on the way he is now...

I think at this point he's just playing to the crowd. It's so easy to turn it on and turn it off when it comes to capslock and exclamation points. It's just like another language in a way, just with the emphasis turned up to the highest setting imaginable.

It's like... Mark's blog is the hellmouth and all his usual human emotions are amplified and turned into living demons. :P

Basically, his writing style is OMGWTFBBQ!1!!11!!! And sometimes he dials it down to share personal experiences, almost like offering a parenthetical observation, then he jumps back into the hellmouth and it's OMGWTFBBQ!1!!11!!!

Well it obviously works, and he clearly doesn't mind that he comes across as an over-stimulated 13 year old. It's not really his fault that he doesn't have an analytical bone in his body, although it does make him difficult to read. (I can't read his Doctor Who reviews at all - well not the Moffat era ones - and his LotR ones were... mixed. Although his reviews of Children of Earth were surprisingly sensible.)

I really have to be in the right mood to read Mark. He's just so OTT. Have I missed a good one? I think the last review I read was Harsh Light of Day. I'll probably catch up eventually.

I'm cautiously optimistic re: new companion. On the one hand I'm just happy to see Amy (who irritates me, and who's story I found a little dehumanizing) finally go, but on the other hand the new actress looks like a very similar type- very young, very thin, very conventionally pretty. Makes me miss Donna and Martha and Rose! (Oh my!)

i read some speculation that she might play a non-human character. i would LOVE to see this girl in purple full-body makeup and prosthetics or something. although i guess that would make it a little difficult for her to walk around on earth without drawing too much attention...

Mmmm, me too. And how awesome would that be? *crosses fingers and toes* I'm guessing that they wouldn't do a whole full-body makeup thing as it'd be too time-consuming for a fulltime companion... But, someone NOT from current Earth would do me! :)

Funny thing that being young and pretty is a handicap when it comes to fandom's acceptance. I mean - I know exactly where you're coming from, I'm just saying (although I'd absolutely put Rose in the same category - Martha and Donna were the odd ones out from that perspective). But then, apparently she gave the 'most interesting' audition, so I'm guessing she got the job for a reason beyond her looks.
