Possibly the funniest thing Mark has written so far...

I REALLY LIKE WESLEY A LOT, EVEN WHEN HE’S FIRM WITH BUFFY LATER. LIKE, THE GUY IS JUST DOING HIS JOB, AND I DON’T BLAME HIM FOR DOING SO. UGH, COULD HE NOT DIE? I WANT TO EXPLORE HIS CHARACTER SO MUCH MORE. PLEASE GIVE ME ONE GOOD THING, JOSS WHEDON.

I'm going to quote this back at him at some point during S3 of AtS... probably just after Angel has tried to smother him. *perky smile*

(That is, presuming he manages to tone stuff down a little - I'm not sure how much more I can take. I don't mind the hyperbole or the flailing, but the capslocks are just exhausting to read...)

That's the fine work of [livejournal.com profile] evangelin1202.

Man, can I just say how much I dislike all-caps? I use caps myself at times, but when it's all-caps all the time, I just feel as though someone is shouting at me, and I hate being shouted at.

Although, I have to agree with you. I'll be interested to see what he does with Wesley in S3 of Angel. (♥ Wesley)

I realized I actually haven't tried to read a post of his since . . . ummm, the one where Spike comes back.

So I decided to read today's . . .

:-\

Dude. Chill.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yep. That and the constant cursing. Does he have to use "Fuck" in every paragraph and every other sentence? Not that I mind, but it does make reading the entry not quite work safe. I keep praying no one sees.

I just scan.

Right now, I'm laying down bets. 1)he's going to hate Spike something fierce in S6 or close. And will most likely hate that season, along with S7. 2) Restless will most likely blow his mind.
3) He'll love HUSH like no-one's business, but hate the arc of S4 for being campy sci-fi. 4) He'll like Angel better than Buffy and think Buffy should have ended with S3.

Hard to tell..if I'm right or not. This is just based on the posts I've read to date.

Well not everyone...Connor lives. (I remember laughing my head off when it happened, because the head of the fan-board I was on was a huge Connor fan and was convinced Whedon would kill off Connor, so kept praying he wouldn't die.
I was spoiled, so I knew. She sees Not Fade Away and her first response was...okay, when I said I didn't want Connor to die, I didn't mean I wanted them to kill off everyone else!)

Love the matching icons. Although Whedon and RTD have nothing on Toby Whithouse of Being Human. He outdid them both.

I guess he'll run out of CAPS soon. And then he'll have nothing to express himself with. Except the interpretive dance.

but yess, I also suspect he won't like later seasons much.

[identity profile] joking.livejournal.com 2012-03-01 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
LOL. I think Wesley may have the most character development of any character I know.

[identity profile] gingerwall.livejournal.com 2012-03-01 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
I agree with you on most of your bets, but I think he'll like Dawn and Glory so much that he'll say it should have ended with S5 instead.

Oh yes. It was cute at first, but now the constant OMG! Best thing ever! flailing and capslocks are just boring. The blog started off interesting, but now there isn't that much actual content about teh actual show in the posts anymore, is mostly just random squee and stories about Mark himself.

Also, I'm getting more and more suspicious that he isn't as unspoiled as he claims, because not only did he make suspiciously accurate predictions about S3, but I also follow Mark Reads, and he did the similar random (but true) predictions about Lord of the Rings as well.

The capslock of doom drives me insane.

[identity profile] ladypeyton.livejournal.com 2012-03-01 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been reading for Enigmaticagentscully's reaction. She, and I think Knut_Knut are the 2 regular commenters that have never seen the show either, and I enjoy their commentary more than I enjoy Mark's.

I especially love when EAS posts her father's reations.

[identity profile] slackerspice.livejournal.com 2012-03-01 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh, I'm still putting up with the capslocks because I'm still praying for incoherent wreck tiems.

The occasional "Don't use the word crazy", on the other hand...

It's not like I don't get the principle behind it, it just seems like it would be better to step up when people are actually using it to insult someone, y'know?

[identity profile] masakochan.livejournal.com 2012-03-01 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
The occasional "Don't use the word crazy", on the other hand...

Some of us were just talking about this on fandom_secrets, and how it's good to create a space where no one gets hurt by certain words. But at the same time- it feels insulting to jump on those of us, who actually have some kind of mental issue, if we opt for using the word 'crazy' to describe ourselves.

[identity profile] slackerspice.livejournal.com 2012-03-01 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Interesting point. Link?

At times, though, it feels (though I may be wrong) like it doesn't take context into consideration.

[identity profile] masakochan.livejournal.com 2012-03-01 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Here! :D

That's what it's sounding like to me. Though I only ever stick around when Mark's reviewing Doctor Who.

[identity profile] slackerspice.livejournal.com 2012-03-01 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
It is, isn't it? Like they're saying "Ooh, can't use that, someone might actually think you're talking about them" (when they're probably not).

Then again, you're talking to someone who was honestly surprised when someone told someone else not to use the word "dumb".

[identity profile] masakochan.livejournal.com 2012-03-01 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Or a person is just talking about an object, or situation, and not a person.

If I can remember far back enough- I can actually remember my mom telling me to not use words like 'stupid' or 'dumb', but I'm thinking that was because other people would call me 'stupid' and 'dumb' when I was younger (and that was when I was going through a lot of therapy for neurological issues). So I understand not calling other people those words.

[identity profile] shadowkat67.livejournal.com 2012-03-01 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
but I think he'll like Dawn and Glory so much that he'll say it should have ended with S5 instead.

I think you are right about that. I forgot about certain bits in S5.
He's going to adore Willow/Tara in S5, fall in love with Dawn, and
The Body is going to crush him into teeny tiny pieces of capitalized goo.
No, he'll love Season 5...and wish it ended there.

Although at this point, I'm not sure if I can keep reading...the all caps is getting on my nerves. Five paragraphs worth in the last post. REALLY?
DUDE, CHILL, ALREADY!

[identity profile] menomegirl.livejournal.com 2012-03-01 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I really like your icon! Did you make it and is it snaggable?

[identity profile] slackerspice.livejournal.com 2012-03-01 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Not mine, actually. I've credited korinacaffeine, but I might be wrong.

That said - snag away.

[identity profile] slackerspice.livejournal.com 2012-03-01 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Aha, now it makes a bit more sense - I'd thought they meant "dumb" as in "mute" at the time. Oops.

[identity profile] masakochan.livejournal.com 2012-03-01 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. I've never heard of 'dumb' being connected with 'mute'. Unless it meant that whenever I've heard the phrase "deaf, dumb, and stupid." Which, the latter, I know would be used whenever someone felt like knocking down another person.
