I'm sure you all know this by now, but Joss posted on Whendonesque!

See, the Buffyverse glows in my brain with a new, overreaching arc that will include the comics, Spike, and more. It's taking shape and soon you will know its name. And you will tremble.

ETA: Yes I am also terrified of course, but right now the excitement is winning!

Of course it makes sense! Only I never had a problem with canon Spuffy - I absolutely adore canon Spuffy. So I'm sort of more worried about how my friends will like it, since I'm fairly certain that I'll be ok with just about anything. (Except Bangel, but that is *very* unlikely!)

It's not that a had a problem with canon Spuffy - it was a wonderful love story (although at times I could have cheerfully throttled Buffy... sloooowwlllyyyy). It's more that we didn't get a full resolution in canon. I wanted to see it, dammit! And I was left with issues.

So, I've worked out those issues, and I've accepted what will happen and that the Bangels are poor deluded souls, despite the bollocks Sarah and Joss spout at times.

We may not get Bangel (I hope there's absolutely no refernce to it). Although the comfort of the thought that Sarah and David won't do it ergo no Bangel was ruined when the thought popped into my brain (stupid brain) that they could use it as a way of explaining their absence (ie Angel shanshus and he and Buffy sail off into the sunset and what we see is Spike dealing... If Joss does that, it's the rusty knife for him.

But I don't want more ammo given to the anti-Spuffys. I don't want all of Spike's love for Buffy and all it meant for him just dismissed. I don't want... well, a lot of things :)

But I'm afraid I may get some of them.

I think that's as unlikely as miss Calender coming back to life.

I understand your concerns, but I'm afraid that I'm an eternal optimist. So I'll presume that it'll be OK until proven wrong.
