See, the Buffyverse glows in my brain with a new, overreaching arc that will include the comics, Spike, and more. It's taking shape and soon you will know its name. And you will tremble.

But still, the delusional, hopeful shipper deep inside me can't help but hope that you're right and that Joss won't want to alienate either shipper faction.

I want to hope it as well. Because I can see Spike going on alone even two years after events of NFA, and trying to do something by himself, and generally, to be a happy shipper I only need to see him buying tickets to Rome, (well, some other limitations may apply) so I will take anything that will leave the story open.
