Good grief, 13 today Miss M? That is AMAZING. Which is a nice coincidence, because from everything I've seen on this journal, everyone in your family is and most definitely you. Also, your sketch of the Doctor when you were 6 is adorkable, and I wish I knew what Doctor Who was back then because all I ever drew was Nessie. 100s of 1000s of pictures of the Loch Ness Monster.
Nowwwww...! I didn't know it was your birthday so I don't have a present for you, but if there's a fanfic you'd like me to write, just give me a plot and I'll have it done for you this weekend. Sound good? Hope so :) Also I have NO idea why I'm rambling so much right now... Uh... I need to go and do some schoolwork now, a riveting essay on fish farms, so please, save me from it with Doctor Who. And have a spectacular day, although I am a little late to be wishing it (hugs).
For now have a pretty gif from the film I watched last night of a newborn horse.
Hey! THanks to you all... an amazing day, full of stupid but fun games, throwing eggs out of windows, and buying ponies! My Little Pony FiM ones. The show is amazing. Dad didn't even roll his eyes at me as I squealed in delight at them! Yayayayayay!
Sorry. I am more than a little hyper due to excessive jelly bean consumption. *UNDERSTATEMENT* Yay!
Haha, I fail at reading comprehension. Okay, first fannish effort, not latest fannish effort, got it. LOL!
My youngest just turned 13 in October. So far, so good. I keep expecting the girls to turn into jerky teens, but for the most part it hasn't happened. They're still lots of fun, notwithstanding the occasional eye roll or sarcastic muttering under the breath. The worst part is they think I'm so old and out of the loop. Dammit, I can still get jiggy wit it!

Happy birthday to you, mom! (Birthdays have taken on new meaning since I had McDiva.)
It seems very daunting, this teenage thing, but my experience has been that it just gets better! Our kids are so smart and interesting, and it's a joy watching them transform into smart, beautiful, and interesting young women. All the best!
Thank you! :) And I always loved this quote from Lost in Translation, because it gets it so right:
Bob: It gets a whole lot more complicated when you have kids. Charlotte: It's scary. Bob: The most terrifying day of your life is the day the first one is born. Charlotte: Nobody ever tells you that. Bob: Your life, as you know it... is gone. Never to return. But they learn how to walk, and they learn how to talk... and you want to be with them. And they turn out to be the most delightful people you will ever meet in your life. Charlotte: That's nice.
