Random post about my daughters being awesome.
Miss M (12). The other day she talked about the 'dumb blonde' stereotype. She figures that because men 'like blondes', blondes probably wear more makeup etc in order to play on this, and use it to their own advantage.
~~~
Impish Girl (10). She complained about a song she'd heard, with the chorus 'Bring out the women and the cars and the cards'. Partly because it's illogical, and also because 'We're not slabs of meat!' [sic]
~~~
Both of them are very fond of NCIS, and their favourites are Ziva and Abby because they're AWESOME. (They also like Ducky.) We've also let them watch Black Books, which they find HILARIOUS, although the main 'lesson' from their POV is that 'Girls are the ones who tell the boys what to do', thanks to Bernard and Manny being daft and Fran telling them what for.
~~~
Last night the Cherub (5) wrote a story on the computer. I helped her with her spelling, and added a few fullstops, but other than that this is all her own work:
one day there was a little girl and she was called lily rose. it was winter
and it was cold and she went outside and she made a snow man
and then she went back in the house and she got a drink. when she
went upstairs she played with doctor who toys and she went downstairs.
then she got a drink then it was her tea time then it was her dessert
then it was her bed time. good night. the end
And ooooh, lucky you! I saw him a few years ago as a birthday treat! (I have the best husband ever.)
ETA: Apologies for typing errors. *facepalm*
Yes you do.. I may have somewhat of a massive crush on him... the combined elements of wit/eloquence + grumpiness are my weakness
And yeah, he's pretty awesome... ♥
As are Abby and Ziva. I tend to agree with them on that one!
And I find myself slowly falling for NCIS. It's just... funny.
(Hope you are feeling better, btw.)
I actually like all the characters, though obviously Abby and Ziva are the best! it was also my Dad's favorite show.
And I'm better this morning thankfully. I'm leaving to drive down to the Oregon Coast in a few minutes so I hope it holds up!
And yeah, they're all great. <3
Have a great trip!
1. I'm starting to love NCIS. Bones, too. Been watching a few of those shows while over in Manila - I don't watch more than Doctor Who, Merlin and the occasional Top Gear in the UK.
2. Will you say hi to Miss M for me?
3. That first comment reminds me of one of my brother's favourite films - Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
It is a show she is rather fond of. /understatement
not the arm of onegoing "Merlin! You watch Merlin?!?"It is a show I am also rather fond of. /understatement
Seriously, though? Merlin is wonderful. He's just so... ADORABLE. His ears. And I love the stories. BBC just hits on a winner idea, sometimes.
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6899487/1/One_Hundred 100 Merlin drabbles. Brilliant.
I have a Merlin icon! Granted, it's Arthur's HAND....no subject
And she says thank you very much for the recs! :)
Totally with them on NCIS - S2C watches it a lot and I like those very same people the most.
And NCIS is great fun - Darcy likes CSI too, but I much prefer NCIS. It's funnier.
Also, the Cherub's story is apparently the cure for the Retail Worker Grumpies, because my case of them disappeared after I read it. There may have even been a small squeak of glee.
♥ She wrote it VERY CAREFULLY, tapping it out a letter at a time. She's now in the midst of a Doctor Who story. It's... about the same length. ;)
