Okay, I've rewatched this about a zillion times now (okay, ten) and I'm in heaven. Okay, the River/Doctor kiss is heaven. The wait? Yeah, that's hell.

Also, what the Doctor says ten seconds in... Is it supposed to sound like nonsense or is that just me having problems? Because to be quite honest, after watching the kiss scene, I might just be losing the ability to understand speech.

Lol--I was confused as well, though I have learned this is a result of Americanness rather than shippy overload. See some more discussion of the gum line here.

Thank you so much, Promethia! That was an extremely useful link. Yeah, I was pretty sure that it was an instance of my Americanism getting in the way. Thankfully, that doesn't happen too often. But when it does (like here), I essentially sit back going, "Uhhhh?" Though, I was starting to honestly believe I could have seriously lost the ability to understand the English language after that kiss. Now that it's been explained though, it makes SO MUCH SENSE! OK.

And yeah, I haven't really been on doctoreleven. I haven't been on many fandom communities AT ALL lately. Even my own page (as you know . . . um, sorry). I think I am subconsciously withdrawing in preparation for the overwhelming excitement of the new season. I can't remember the last time I was actually this excited about new episodes of a show. I'm just not usually a TV/movie type of person. I'm just not. But Doctor/River? *Flails!* Hmm, I think I'm going on a tangent.

Until I saw it explained, I wondered if maybe they were making some kind of joke with the editing--as if the Doctor had gotten all distracted and was just babbling sounds. Actually, I like my version better--I may stick with it.

Oh, absolutely don't worry about it. Even if you never get back at all. It's been a really enjoyable exchange, but commenting can be a lot of work. I completely understand.

Well, when the season comes around, if you want somewhere to flail over episodes and ogle people, that's the place to do it. The watch-along/squee posts are pretty much legendary. Lots of River fans. And zero wank.

Hmmm... I guess I'm so used to having the rug pulled out from under me (Rusty re. CoE: 'Oh there'll be lots of Jack/Ianto stuff! You'll love it!') that I instinctively grab hold of everything I can for as long as I can, because I know that writers exist to break Teh Pretty. (Also see 'Post Traumatic Joss Disorder'...)
