Good news!

'Gay men and lesbians are to be given the same right to marry as heterosexual couples under marriage law reforms expected to be announced this week.'

We've had civil partnerships since 2004, of course, but it's not quite the same...

That is good news, and England is quite ahead of the US in that department. I was wondering, do religious and conservative groups put up as much a fuss in England, Ireland, Wales or Scotland as they do in the US about gay marriage ? Or is the modern protestant religions not as diversified as in the US ?

Hmm, US conservative and British conservative must be quite different then. American conservative groups are so influenced so much by the religion conservatives, that it's hard to tell the difference really.
