People like to talk about mindf**ks, but this is love making.
Although remember your thing about watching the same show the writer is producing? I think that's key here. As far as I can tell the people who were disappointed were the ones who wanted the pseudo-philosophical musings to be deeper than they were, but those are just window dressing.
What it is really is a heist film set in people's brains. The fun is in watching clever people do clever things and trying to follow exactly how it happens. And, oh . . . there is building things straight out of your mind and Escher geometries and these nested situations where you have to keep track of how each layer is moving relative to the others spatially and temporally and THEY FOLDED PARIS IN HALF OMG (when I saw that in the trailer, I knew I would love this film no matter what the rest of it was about).
It is the only movie I can think of that is really, first and foremost, about spatial reasoning (in, I swear, something like 7 dimensions), and it is magnificent. Some friends and I came back from seeing it in the theater and watched TPO/TBB to cool off.

I rather gathered that, given the amount of drooling that went on my flist... ;)
Anyways, you have certainly made me more curious about it. Will see what I can do over the holidays.
