Ugh, I can't even believe it's been ten years. Those last five minutes are still just as blissfully shocking as they were the moment it first aired. I still say it was totally responsible for turning me into a full-fledged Buffy fan.
This was the first episode I actually remember seeing- on cable reruns sometime in 2002. I was completely captivated, but the station was showing episodes all out of order, and eventually I lost track of it... until something prompted me to pick up a season from the library a few years ago. And I've been watching ever since, in an endless loop like the mummy hand- but in a good way! :)
I love hearing stories about how people got hooked! (Someone - I forget who - had 'Seeing Red' as her first experience of BtVS. And she got hooked instantly.)
And yay for mummy hand references! I adore that ep. :)

After four and a half seasons of occasional amusement, this is the episode that made me a fan.
