Icon speaks for us all, I think.

I'm sure you've all heard about LJs latest round of fail. How do they do it? I mean, every single time, they get things just *spectacularly* wrong. ::shakes head:: ETA: [livejournal.com profile] news post here, if you want to know what's going on/complain. (I like the pingback thing though. That seems nifty.)

I guess it's fitting that #36 of s8 comes out today. Wtf-ery seeks wtf-ery. Am currently v. pleased that I never got a Facebook or signed up for Twitter.

Oh, and I almost forgot - if anyone wants a Dreamwidth invite, I've got a handful. (Not that I'm about to migrate, but...)

And tons of people crosspost from Dreamwidth (because you can't from LJ), why didn't they work on that?

Money, I'm sure. DW is a miniscule site compared to LJ (much less Facebook) and there's already a healthy number of people who use both sites. Yet I'd be willing to bet that in a random poll of LJ users maybe 1 out of 10 has heard of DW and maybe a quarter of those has gone so far as to look at it. Plus, as DW does not run ads there's no possible revenue to share there.

I know that one of the SPN rec communities has a policy of notifying individuals that they've been included in a post, but so far as I've seen they're the only ones. I can't help thinking that new LJ fandom people could also start tying into communities and other users more quickly by being able to follow how information gets distributed, though that probably won't happen because the notices are screened. It's hardly a new idea though, as most every blog out there has a trackback system which often links to other similar discussions.

Yeah, I think you're right.

I've never really come across it, and I think it's a brilliant idea. Yay for LJ getting something right!
