And a couple of brilliant things:
Super Heroes vs. the Westboro Baptist Church. (They've faced down humans time and time again, but Fred Phelps and his minions from the Westboro Baptist Church were not ready for the cosplay action that awaited them today at Comic-Con. After all, who can win against a counter protest that includes robots, magical anime girls, Trekkies, Jedi and...kittens?) THIS MADE MY MORNING!

goldenmoonrose. I do not have the words to describe the brilliance of this. *flails*

You know the ornery part of me wants them to try protesting DragonCon next, because the sheer power of fandom there might destroy them.

They deserve all the gleeful irreverence geekdom can throw at them.

I can imagine. Watched a documentary about them a few years back (Watch it here if you're curious, it's very good!), so know a bit about them, but still can't work out how anyone can live like that. Just... can't.

Oh yeah!

(Seriously, I would take a dozen Fred Phelps over one James Dobson-type any day. Same ultimate message and purpose, but couched in realistic Christianity, and it's suddenly incredibly influential.)

*nods* And I love 'I have a sign.' :D

Word. Andrew Sullivan brands people like that Christianists to separate them from actual Christians, and I wish that'd catch on more.
