elisi: Living in interesting times is not worth it (Spike by kathyh)

Fluffy fluff - why I was pre-destined to fall for Spike.

Today was the last day of school! :) I would dance if I wasn't so sleepy. I am sleepy because Darcy went out last night with his work-colleagues and only came back at around 11pm. And then he wanted some 'us' time since we'd hardly seen each other all day. Cue *late* bedtime! But since there will be no more getting up early for weeks and weeks I figured being sleepy for one day wouldn't hurt.

And since I'm so sleepy and my head refuses to work properly I thought I'd do this silly little post that I've been thinking of doing for a while now. Basically when I was around 12 (I think, it's all a bit hazy) I discovered this American comic book/graphic novel series called 'Elfquest'. Gorgeously drawn, epic in scale and with characters that leapt off the page. Now thinking about this a while ago, I realised that I've obviously always been drawn to the same type! The main character of 'Elfquest' is Cutter. Now Cutter is the chief of a small tribe of night-dwelling(!) elves called 'The wolfriders'. Cutter is pale, blonde, blue-eyed and extremely fit! He is also a brilliant fighter (got his name from his skill with a sword), speaks without thinking first and has a quick temper. He's also extremely loyal and loving towards those he cares about. Oh, and he has killer cheekbones! Remind you of anyone?

Just to prove what a complete dork I am, I will include a picture from one of the first issues. The heroine (Leetah) is trying to decide which of her 'suitors' should have the honour of 'courting her':

Heh, wonder if any of ME were fans? Kinda sums up the B/S/A conundrum: restless brooding vs frank-hearted and wild :)
I remember you had the Elfquest icons when you first started - do you still have them?

Cue much dancing!

Ah...Elfquest. I remember when it was a single strip in the back of the Dragon magazine. And yes - Spike is a drow.
