I don't really know what to say and lots of other people have said things already - it's just... we used to live in London. For 3 years. Aldgate East (where the police have confirmed two deaths) was a tubestation we used almost every day. The Royal London hospital where most of the injured are being brought to is where I had Little Miss M. Yesterday (if I hadn't been poorly still) I would probably have made a Squee!Post about London getting the Olympics, especially since we spent a year in Stratford and goodness knows they need the re-generation. Now I'm just upset. Guto Harri said on the news earlier that this was Tony Blair's worst nightmare - the thing that would keep him awake at night. And I think that was fairly obvious in the quick press briefing he did...

That's what really bring it home doesn't it.
It really is. Seeing so many familiar places on the news... it's chilling. vampirefever was late for work this morning and therefore didn't catch her usual train - which was the one that was blown up in King's Cross. That's the sort of thing that makes it personal. I hate to think how you felt before you heard from your husband and brother.

I heard from J before I realised the scale of what had happened and I know that my brother goes in to work really early so I thought he was probably OK, but you can never be quite sure.

Glad you're feeling much better. Take it easy though.

That's the scary thing. And much as I adore London there are times when I'm extremely grateful to be living in Yorkshire...
