Nothing to say...
Um... had a nice time away. It was sunny and we went to Runswick Bay (where we were pestered by wasps, but also found lots of fossils) and generally had a nice time. *is too tired to explain*
Children go back to school one week tomorrow and to say I'm looking forward to it is the understatement of the century. I love them to pieces, but omg freedom! Peace! Quiet! TIME! No new mess every time I turn around... ::drinks more brandy:: (It helps, you know!)
DIY project is actually getting somewhere, and I have a new hoover! The old one died the second Darcy started drilling holes in walls, in case I forgot to mention it. Also I (FINALLY) got a new door handle on our front door, something I've been wanting ever since we moved in 5 years ago. (The old one didn't have a handle on the outside, which meant that I always, always, always needed to take a key with me when I went out - even if I was just putting something in the bin...)
But now I am waffling - which isn't surprising since I'm half asleep. Came back (late) Friday night, btw, and when I checked my flist Saturday morning discovered that apparently there were 'discussions' going on. Didn't care to join in (been there, done that), but in case anyone's curious my icon sums up my thoughts pretty precisely. (Made by
st_salieri, during similar discussions in years past, and snaggable as far as I know.)
(Am also frustrated because I want to WRITE, and can't. Not just because of the children, but because the iMac needs a new keyboard.) (I'm posting from the laptop, but all my *stuff* is on the main computer, and also I hate writing on this thing.)
OK, I better go before I complain too much. Love you all, and thank you for being there.

K goes back to college next week, which I have to admit I'm looking forward to. It's great to have her at home, but it will be nice to have some time to myself again.
The recent discussions were definitely a blast from the past. I try to stay as far away from kerfuffles as I can these days, but it's difficult to do when they're happening on your flist. I think I managed not to get too involved, though. And right there with you on your icon. It's perfect! :)
*many hugs*

It really was lovely - I even read half a book!

Exactly. I need a holiday. :)

I know, it was very odd. I guess it might be to do with the influx of new people? They, too, need to get these issues out of their system!
And right there with you on your icon. It's perfect! :)
I love it very much.
*send lots of hugs back*

I know - but that's how the house came, so... *loves new door handle*
