You know, what the icon says...
So, I'll admit that I tend to go 'Lalalalala' and stick my fingers in my ears when it comes to British politics. It's all just too depressing and dull. American politics on the other hand - well, it's The West Wing for reals... Except crazier. In case some of you haven't been following, across the pond they [the conservatives] like to teabag their opponents(!). This video explains:
Personally I'm on Robin Hood's side.

Course, teabagging on astroturf could, under some circumstances, give you nasty carpet burns on your knees....

It is a neverending source of disbelief for me!
The only problem was trying to explain what teabagging to my mom without actually saying anything that I don't ever want to say to my mom.
I'm trying to imagine explaining it to *my* mum and... yikes!

In addition:
1) Who drinks tea here?
2) Have they checked the cost of the stuff? Why don't they dump corn syrup? Now there's something Americans consume a lot of, because it's cheap.
I also have to wonder if Brits were equally amused during round 1 of this protest. ;>

It really is frightfully unfortunate, since they clearly *want* to be taken seriously...

Oh, the poor GOP. They haven't figured out how to actually protest something worth protesting yet.

I KNOW! The thing is a never-ending opportunity for mockery...

Tax cuts for 95% of people? That dastardly Obama, how DARE he? (I have yet to work out why *anyone* would resent taxing rich people more. I just don't get it.)

I have to go to a family wedding this weekend in Portland. One of my cousin's husband is a retired GOP congressman (though I hear he's thinking of running for the senate; he's bored just being a regular human), and another cousin is married to GOP political strategist; it's bound to be topic of conversation.
::sigh::
Gonna be a loooog weekend!
