I can't begin to tell you how endearing I find it that you are so invested in the Obama presidency. You go girl!!

It's like The West Wing - for real! It's sort of like getting a new fandom...

ETA: Basically it's a classic good cop/bad cop thing. :)

But yes - the shopping carts are just fantastic!

Although I am not sure why I am surprised by the arse kicking. After all anyone who is willing to loudly and publicly take on a Daley in this town has to have big brass balls.

Heh. I'd never heard of him before Obama appointed him, but he's a fascinating character. And I *really* want to re-watch some West Wing now, and pay extra attention to Josh...

I think that is what is helping with the Rahm love for me, Josh was one of my favorites on that show, so anyone who inspired that kind of awesome can't be all that bad.

Thanks for the link to the Obama/Rahm community, and for the other one you posted before, obama_daily. I can't get enough of the stuff - LOLcats, icons, pictures. You are right - it *is* like a new fandom. :) And there's something about these two guys which makes them into fandom icons. And it's not just because they are young and handsome - take a new Secretary of Treasury Tim Geithner for example, he'yound and not shabby looking but I can't see anyone making funny pictures with him. But Obama and Rahm got it. :)

I hadn't either until

Can't. Stop. Reading. (It's The West Wing, but for real...)
But Obama and Rahm got it. :)
I think it's a classic case of Odd Couple - or Good Cop/Bad Cop - or something. And they're such interesting & opposite personalities - the No Drama Ultra Cool One and the Ranty Exploding Balls of Steel One... Not to mention that they're both driven by a will to get stuff done. I think the thing that really made me warm to Rahm was a story about when he worked for Clinton and did something-or-other that got him demoted quite severely. But instead of complaining or indulging in a pity-party, he quite simply got on with his job from his new *tiny* little office (and in time got promoted again). It's just so... mature.

And I never watched West Wing. I should try it.

Where was this???
I just got a feeling he's a right man for this job, that he's perfect for this and he'll do great.

I only ever saw the first two seasons, since then they started showing it too late, but it is excellent, clever and superbly written drama, and gives you a fascinating glimpse into how government works.
