Does anyone remember?
First of all I hope that everyone in the path of Ike is doing OK. It's bizarre to watch the pictures in the news, since today was a beautiful, sunny and summery day...
In the most roundabout way possible, the hurricane reminded me of
ladywenham - does anyone know how she is now? For those for whom the name doesn't ring a bell, she was a BNF when I joined LJ, and wrote the most gorgeous fic. And one of them was a post-NFA Spuffy fic, where the two of them rode out a storm in an old house (Spike having been in Galveston in 1900, and knowing what to do). Everything in the story was symbolic, and it was full of ghosts and memories, and it was *beautifully* written... does anyone remember it? I can't find it - it's not on her ff.net page or on nocturnal light, and her website's gone. Is she archived anywhere else? My google-fu is failing, and I'm kinda busy with getting children to bed.
I know it is an odd thing to focus on, under the circumstances, but I'm far away and there's really nothing I can do. *is worried*
ETA:
ruuger found it: The Big Easy.
Might indulge later, after Last Night of the Proms. (Did you see Sue Perkins? I'm so happy she won!)
ETA2: Btw I noticed that deleted journals once more have a line through them. I approve.

(There are too many Spuffy archives, I didn't know where to start looking...)
Also *smooches*!

Also - hello! I suck at commenting lately, sorry.

That's okay, I have nothing to say about Torchwood.

Absolutely. *nods wisely*

And I don't watch Supernatural... at least there's always Spike. :)

Oh that's an awkward problem. Wishing you the best of luck with the writing - and the kitten. :)

Oh, but you should! Pretty boys fighting monsters - what's not to like? *g*

And yes, I thought of that story as well.

The Spuffy hivemind at work again! ;)

Here's a direct link to The Big Easy, which I believe is the fic you're referring to.

(And re your fic recs, then if it's not fun, then what's the point - fandom is the thing that ought to de-stress and comfort. And anyway it'll take me decades to get through what you've rec'd so far...)

And how are you doing btw?

I'm okay - busy working, trying to apply to grad school, spraining my knee, watching Olympics, etc. The Buffy score has been a help to keep me in the fandom, I think (even though I just found out about it) - I've been extremely disappointed in the comics (though I like Angel a bit better) (and I still consider season 8 canon ;-), so having something I loved about the series come up again made me happy, and want to go rewatch my nice DVDs of season 5 and 7.
And I'm so glad to find people who aren't obsessed with Twilight. Blech.

Now you're making me jealous... Although it *is* my birthday soon, so I could drop hints in the right places. ;)

Sounds like your busy! (I know the feeling.)

Seems like a good plan to me. Personally I'm busy writing a BtVS/Torchwood crossover, wherein Captain Jack is The Immortal - it mostly centers around his and Buffy's story because they are PERFECT for each other at that particular point in time. (Also he *is* The Immortal to a T - he's everything that Spike & Angel get told, would totally sleep with Darla & Dru concurrently, and all in all I'm having way too much fun. *g*) ETA: Changed the icon so (in case Doctor Who/Torchwood has passed you by) you can see what Jack looks like.

Really? I think the Angel ones are *excellent*, and the Buffy ones unadulterated crack!fic (fun crack!fic - Xander/Dracula is inspired), and wouldn't dream of considering either canon. :)

I have a whole post full of links to Twilight mockage if you want to indulge. It's addictive though...

(Didn't think you would, but I still do...even if I think crack!Buffy isn't nearly as fun or funny as, um, non-crack!Buffy.)
