Nothing much. (Seriously. Just pretend I'm not here.)
Read issue 16 of s8. And... The point where I squeed? When Xander referenced 'My Friend Flicka'. I sooooooo need to re-read that book! (I presume there's a film also? Not that I really want to watch it, I'm not really one for adaptations.) But my goodness that one made me all flaily - and terribly nostalgic! *meeps* 'Flicka' is Swedish for 'girl' btw, but in the book the name for a horse.
There were lots of other things too, I think. Sorry, have nothing much to say right now. Subjectively I like the art more, but everyone looks even *less* like themselves - and not even like their comic selves. *deep sigh* Oh and the Dawn thing is OLD! Stop it. [ETA: She's a little less annoying as a centaur, but I just want her human shaped & sized already. She's plenty interesting in and of herself imho!] Also much timey-wimey talk. Fun, but life is OMG busy, so no more thoughts!

DawniePony, despite knowing about them too). It's just part of the culture.no subject
Really? How interesting, I've never heard it mentioned. (Guess I'll come across it lots more times in the weeks to come, that's how these things usually go!)
And I've owned LOTS of My Little Ponies! :)

I first heard about it on the Simpsons. Moe reads "My Friend Flicka" to sick children when he volunteers at the hospital. :-)

And then he cries. And hopes no one finds out. :-)

It's all coming back to me now... it's been too long since I watched The Simpsons. (But I remembered the crying! Oh Moe...)

That was an interesting series with really vivid characters (both human and equine), part enjoyable cheese, part very adult. As a kid I remember being confused by and uncomfortable with the frank but subtle exploration of the parents' marital troubles in the second book, esp.

Wow. That's almost enough to make me go find it! I've only ever read the first book (I think... my mother has it, but I have a vague recollection of finding the others in the local library). Guess I ought to look them up.

That's a very good description! :)
