Birthdays & important LJ stuff

Because it is half term, tomorrow we'll be going away for a few days, so I have some birthday wishes to get out there early:

And now for something completely different. I know I mentioned it already, but please vote for a fandom candidate (that is, a candidate that is *in* fandom, not necessarily one that wants to push an agenda) in the Advisory Board Elections - the main candidates being legomymalfoy, rm and vichan (lots of info here and here). Basically we need to make sure that jameth doesn't win. (In short, because apparently he's a troll. Or at least hangs out with them.) So spread the word and get fandom voting. (If you want to change your vote, you can do so here.)

ETA: You know, I'm kinda glad I'm going away, because this could seriously escalate. Personally, I used the highly scientific method of looking at the candidates' icons to determine whom to vote for! :)

Hm, weird... I was just about to dutifully vote when I got a window with all the red lines already firmly in place, as if I already voted. Which I haven't . Is someone hijacking me? Is that possible?

You have to be logged in to vote. Unless your LJ is only a few days old... (brandnew members can apparently not vote)

We can hope. I don't think he's evil incarnate or anything, but I've come across a few things that have made me rather uneasy.

I hope things won't be this awkward every year - LJ has enough kerfuffles as it is!

Same here. Fandom is probably over reacting, but (as someone said somewhere), respect is the main thing to strive for on LJ - and he seems to just think that if he's funny, it makes thing OK.
