So, about the slash thing... and a thought on #12.

Her original questions - and Brian's answers - you can find here, but essentially his reply is summed up in this sentence:
Do you suddenly want AFTER THE FALL to go in that direction? I think it would make for an awkward shift.
And you know what? That makes me SO HAPPY! Sure it'd be fun - and hot - to have some S/A slash, but I wouldn't want it shoehorned in to please the fangirls. s8 reads like crack!fic now, but AtF is (so far at least, and long may it continue) a credible and serious continuation of a 'verse I loved. If that means living on subtext, then so be it - I'm used to it. (And Torchwood is providing me with plenty of pretty canon slash. If I want Spike & Angel to get together there's always fic.)

Then there's issue 12, which I have now read. The bed scene turns into hilarious farce, and quite frankly it amused me a great deal. *Finally* we got lots of characters sparking off each other. (And no, I don't think it's much like S6 Spuffy to be honest. Buffy might not have *loved* Spike, but they had something. It wasn't pretty, but it was real. A connection going back seasons. Her thing with Satsu? Dunno. Not really interesting enough to warrant any meta.)
I have two problems however, both of them linked to Dracula.
1) Xander is the buttmonkey *again*? Get some new storylines, please!
ETA: I should probably point out that it *amused* me (esp after reading this FitB), but I can't help thinking that they're recycling stories.
This however was nothing compared to
2) Buffy's "That's new" when seeing the panther turning into a fog and then not figuring out that it was Dracula until the meeting afterwards! *hits head repeatedly against wall* What happened to "Standing right here!"??? I mean, she was excited enough about meeting Dracula at the time, surely he left an impression of some sort. She ought to have figured it out after a second. She is SMART and she has a GOOD MEMORY! Grrr. (And I thought this comic had exhausted its power to annoy me. *sigh* It's a shame, because lots of it were well written.)
Anyway, RL is calling. I'm going to disable comments because I have spent FAR too long on this already, and I quite simply do not have the time to talk anymore.
