THANK YOU Joss!
This is one of the best things I've read in a long time:
It has to be said: the Andrew scene in "The Girl in Question" was a victim of me dropping the ball. I specifically said there should be a party of men AND women, all glamorous and Italian, waiting for Andrew. I wasn't there when it was shot, and didn't have the time/money/energy to change it after the fact, though it made me crazy.
Andrew's sexuality is always on the cusp of self-awareness because Andrew is stunted emotionally and because it's hilarious.
[Side-note: The "people change" thing is a hold-over from the fact that the scene was originally written for Dawn (but Michelle turned us down). The idea was, there's little Dawn, then in the last scene there's hot grown-up Dawn going out on the town, a heavy visual support of people changing (since Spike and Angel always see her as older brothers do). But Tommy made it his own, 'cause he's Tommy.]
Oh, and speaking of Tommy, re: Buckaroo? Perfect Tommy was probably gay. How the girls did squeal, but that wonderful matching shirt and vest? Yeah. One man's opinion.

Amazing, isn't it? ;)
Now, see, that's what I've always thought that scene was about
Same here. (Initially I presumed the ladies were lesbians - it never occurred to me that he was supposed to have gone straight.)
Also I dearly wish we could have had fun party-girl Dawn in the comics. *deep sigh*

Thank you - and yes I saw!!!! And you really *are* evil! Didn't have time to comment at the time, since I was rushed off my feet (parents have gone out today, so I have some free time. Hurrah! *g*)

Yeah, but she's a giant instead. Surely that's as much fun? I hope Joss read that post through again, thought of what's happening to Dawn right now and went "Hey... wait a minute."

Not holding my breath here. Although it could have been a lot of fun! Say she was a Berkely, and Buffy (post meeting General Voll) panicked and brought her to Scotland so she wouldn't be kidnapped or something - I mean look what they tried to do to Willow! We could have had a grumpy Dawn (in outfits that'd make Xander v. uncomfortable/pleased), complaining about being stuck in the middle of nowhere, and bringing in booze & organising parties. And whenever Buffy said anything, Dawn could turn up her nose and say "Well I'm no longer a thief, Miss Bankrobber!"
*sighs again*

I still say I'll forgive Joss for the entire Giant!Dawn storyline if we get an issue where Giant!Dawn carries Buffy from bank to bank, making her give back every cent and say "I'm so sorry, I promise not to do it again." In Schweizerdeutsch. On pain of trampling.
"Can't I at least keep the diamond? It's so pretty! Look!"
"Let's see. Did you let me keep that toothbrush I stole? NO."

Do you think we could bribe Joss?

The best idea *ever*.

And I have this semi-bunny, where Robin Wood got stuck in LA when it was sent to hell, and (after some tribulations) gets back home to his old neighbourhood, only to find that a certain vampire is the reigning Lord and being treated like a savior. He might then end up joining Gunn... ;)
