I love this icon. But it's so far from RL that it isn't funny...
First of all Happy Belated Birthday to
skylee! I am hopeless at this birthday thing! Hope you had a lovely day! *hugs*
Second, I changed my layout. Not that I didn’t *adore* my threesome banner, but I did worry about the children asking questions! ;) Also it was very dark, and then I saw a preview picture from ‘Angel: After the Fall’ that was just too gorgeous not to use. Full image under here.

See what I mean? Fills me with total glee and is also just jaw-droppingly beautiful. (I added the text to the banner myself. I felt it needed just a touch of colour. Also I’m thrilled to pieces that we get to see what happened.)
Otherwise I’m just kinda grouchy and blah.
Darcy remarked on Friday that ‘there was an unholy tidiness in the house’. This only went for the downstairs, but it really *was* tidy. Guess what it looks like now, 48 hours later? I’m just in one of those moods where it seems that nothing I do ever matters and that no one notices or cares at all. There’s 4 of them and only 1 of me and I just can’t keep up. This wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t for the fact that my parents arrive next Sunday and I need to have the whole place tidy by then. (Right now f.ex. the guestbed is buried under stuff...) So I have a week to make *everything* look nice (try doing that when your hoover is broken! If Darcy hasn’t sorted it by Friday I’m buying a new one! I don’t care if we can’t afford it. There are limits to the miracles I can accomplish with a dustpan and brush.) Of course a week is a long time, but when you add a toddler to the mix it means that *everything* takes 10 times longer than it should. (She’s adorable, don’t get me wrong. But she’s everywhere!)
And of course what I *want* to be doing is writing - first of all finish ‘As You Were + One’, and then ‘Not The Last’. And then there’s my poor WIP (the sequel to ‘Maybe Someday’), that I’ve not looked at since before we went on holiday, even though I have a multitude of plotbunnies... Oh and I also have a Mrs. Saxon fic that is half-written, as well as my seasonal_spuffy fic (thankfully that only needs a little tweaking!) - and there’s that ‘Cavemen’ sequel that keeps nagging me. Not to mention some meta on Prof. Yana, and some on The Doctor and his companions, that I’ve wanted to write for ages. And I have no idea when I’m going to be able to tackle any of these! /end whine
So... I am going to try my best to stay away from LJ, because it sucks me in (too many macros... too many interesting posts) and concentrate on actually getting stuff *done*!
Thank goodness there’s nothing on TV!

Isn't it just? I couldn't stop drooling when I first saw it...
I'm not really that much into the comics, but I really like that one.
This is the thing with S6 - even if the story turns out to be rubbish, it'll still be drop-dead gorgeous to look at. *g*
Children are fatal to any hopes of maintaining a tidy house. Teenagers are worse.
Don't say that! *screams quietly*
Make sure you keep some time for you, to do something that won't need redoing a few hours later!
Well I just spent a very enjoyable half hour with the two eldest watching 'Invader Zim' clips on youtube. Must talk Darcy in to getting it for me for my birthday...

See, this is why I have given up on The Long Way Home. They're not pretty (half the time I can't even recognize the characters from panel to panel), they're not interesting (to me, at least), and there's just too much stuff that doesn't make any sense. *sigh* But I'm not sure even teh pretty in S6 could suck me in if the story's pants. Have to wait and see, I guess.

Oh amen to all of that! I think I must be a glutton for punishment, 'cause I keep reading them (it's picked up with Faith though).
But I'm not sure even teh pretty in S6 could suck me in if the story's pants.
With Brian Lynch writing I doubt the story could *ever* be pants. What follies Joss might lead him into is another case of course... *prays to patron saints of comic books*

I'm afraid it's true. They are in theory more capable of putting stuff away. In practice that means they are better at spreading it round and finding good excuses why they are too busy to tidy up.
I'm an incompetent mother.
