I love this icon. But it's so far from RL that it isn't funny...
First of all Happy Belated Birthday to
skylee! I am hopeless at this birthday thing! Hope you had a lovely day! *hugs*
Second, I changed my layout. Not that I didn’t *adore* my threesome banner, but I did worry about the children asking questions! ;) Also it was very dark, and then I saw a preview picture from ‘Angel: After the Fall’ that was just too gorgeous not to use. Full image under here.

See what I mean? Fills me with total glee and is also just jaw-droppingly beautiful. (I added the text to the banner myself. I felt it needed just a touch of colour. Also I’m thrilled to pieces that we get to see what happened.)
Otherwise I’m just kinda grouchy and blah.
Darcy remarked on Friday that ‘there was an unholy tidiness in the house’. This only went for the downstairs, but it really *was* tidy. Guess what it looks like now, 48 hours later? I’m just in one of those moods where it seems that nothing I do ever matters and that no one notices or cares at all. There’s 4 of them and only 1 of me and I just can’t keep up. This wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t for the fact that my parents arrive next Sunday and I need to have the whole place tidy by then. (Right now f.ex. the guestbed is buried under stuff...) So I have a week to make *everything* look nice (try doing that when your hoover is broken! If Darcy hasn’t sorted it by Friday I’m buying a new one! I don’t care if we can’t afford it. There are limits to the miracles I can accomplish with a dustpan and brush.) Of course a week is a long time, but when you add a toddler to the mix it means that *everything* takes 10 times longer than it should. (She’s adorable, don’t get me wrong. But she’s everywhere!)
And of course what I *want* to be doing is writing - first of all finish ‘As You Were + One’, and then ‘Not The Last’. And then there’s my poor WIP (the sequel to ‘Maybe Someday’), that I’ve not looked at since before we went on holiday, even though I have a multitude of plotbunnies... Oh and I also have a Mrs. Saxon fic that is half-written, as well as my seasonal_spuffy fic (thankfully that only needs a little tweaking!) - and there’s that ‘Cavemen’ sequel that keeps nagging me. Not to mention some meta on Prof. Yana, and some on The Doctor and his companions, that I’ve wanted to write for ages. And I have no idea when I’m going to be able to tackle any of these! /end whine
So... I am going to try my best to stay away from LJ, because it sucks me in (too many macros... too many interesting posts) and concentrate on actually getting stuff *done*!
Thank goodness there’s nothing on TV!

Well compared to a lot of other people, it's nothing. I just sometimes feel like I'm banging my head against a wall...
It still amazes me that you manage to get anything creative done at all with three small children to look after. When mine were young I used to think it a major achievement if I managed to hang out a basket of washing.
Well my washing line is broken... (*hugs dryer*)
And thank you lots for your comment. It really means a lot!

Children are fatal to any hopes of maintaining a tidy house. Teenagers are worse. Make sure you keep some time for you, to do something that won't need redoing a few hours later!

Isn't it just? I couldn't stop drooling when I first saw it...
I'm not really that much into the comics, but I really like that one.
This is the thing with S6 - even if the story turns out to be rubbish, it'll still be drop-dead gorgeous to look at. *g*

Don't say that! *screams quietly*
Make sure you keep some time for you, to do something that won't need redoing a few hours later!
Well I just spent a very enjoyable half hour with the two eldest watching 'Invader Zim' clips on youtube. Must talk Darcy in to getting it for me for my birthday...

See, this is why I have given up on The Long Way Home. They're not pretty (half the time I can't even recognize the characters from panel to panel), they're not interesting (to me, at least), and there's just too much stuff that doesn't make any sense. *sigh* But I'm not sure even teh pretty in S6 could suck me in if the story's pants. Have to wait and see, I guess.

Oh amen to all of that! I think I must be a glutton for punishment, 'cause I keep reading them (it's picked up with Faith though).
But I'm not sure even teh pretty in S6 could suck me in if the story's pants.
With Brian Lynch writing I doubt the story could *ever* be pants. What follies Joss might lead him into is another case of course... *prays to patron saints of comic books*

I'm afraid it's true. They are in theory more capable of putting stuff away. In practice that means they are better at spreading it round and finding good excuses why they are too busy to tidy up.
I'm an incompetent mother.

Awesome layout, btw, the picture made me squee! I want to wish it was November but then no, I can't because that is too close to Holiday, and no one who works retail and is in their right mind wishes for Holiday *shudders at the thought* So I will just have to wait patiently, although the final installment of Shadow Puppets would help (hee! special guest puppet star!!!)
And now, laundry.

I love LJ, but...
Awesome layout, btw, the picture made me squee!
I've also got the picture on my desktop... I can't believe how excited I am over this, given how stand-offish I am over S8. I sort of feel sorry for S8 for being so dull.

I can imagine! Also Christmas is *difficult* with 3 children. Rewarding, but a lot of work!

There is that! *loves Puppet!Spike*

Sorry to hear you've got so much to do and it sounds all so stressful!
Mind you, looking on the positive: it must be nice to have your parents coming and there's so much going on in your brain. Long may that last! When it's the other way around, that gets depressing...
::more hugs::

I can perform miracles, it's just an awful lot of hard work!

You are the queen of looking at the positive side! *smooches*
Oh and I wrote you fic. :) *points to previous entry*

Yes - I am getting nowhere with my fics - and it is my own fault - spare time is spent on LJ when I should be just focused on the "word" package in my computer ... maybe next week!!!
no subject
Ooooh The Doctor will be back, sooner or later. Probably bringing a friend...
and the phrase is really great - we all have those dragons to slay, don't we?
I'm just so thrilled that they will tell what happened - no 'oh it's now one year later and everything's chagned'. Well it might be a flash-back, but still. Angel + dragon = awesome!

I wish it was only the fic... there's so many *other* things too! *flails*

So I have a week to make *everything* look nice (try doing that when your hoover is broken!
I feel your pain. My hoover nearly went up in flames just before we had the windows done and still emits a strong smell of something burning. I think we possibly need a new one but J keeps insisting the burning smell is getting less.
I've been reading LJ instead of sorting out the heaps of rubbish we've seen fit to keep for years. I think I ought to take a break too, but I never really manage. Best of luck with the tidying and the parental visit.

If a little distracting...
And black and white too, very stylish.
I needed something bright and clean after all that brown.
I think we possibly need a new one but J keeps insisting the burning smell is getting less.
Hmmmmmm. Sounds ominous.

You and me both...

He was cool about it later on IDW, like if people have seen it already then what can you do. But if you wait a bit it will be out there finished. And they promised a 5-page preview soon, with this image being a part of it.
It should still be fine to have it as a banner though. What's done is done and they can't undo it.
And I hear you on the kids... And three kids, oh my! It's easier for me now that my two kids are in school and still I don't belong to myself most of the time. Nevertheless, you accomplish an amazing amount of things. :)

Oh dear! I did wonder where it came from...

Such is life. *pets banner*

Aw, thank you. I am just always hyper aware of all the things I don't get done...

I'm a neat freak, and get nerved out with only a Hubby and 2 baby dogs to clean up after.
*hugs you*

I've never been anyone's hero before! Do I have to get a costume? *g*
Thank you for the hugs though - they're very much appreciated. And I feel a lot more positive today. :)
(Oh and did I ever mention how much I love this icon?)

I just needed something completely different, and when I saw the image I suddenly knew what to do! :)
I kind of miss the Dr Who though!
Oh he'll be back. Possibly bringing a friend... (Have you seen all of S3 yet?)
I blame you in a large part for my new Doctor Who obsession!
::is very proud:: Fun and shiny and PRETTY! Mmmmm, pretty Timelord...

Thank you - and me too! Most of all I just hope for one heck of a story - preferebly without stupid ret-cons...
And thanks for the thoughts and the hugs. Muchly appreciated. *hugs back*

The thing about my parents coming is that it's incredibly hectic beforehand, but once they're here they're great for taking kids to school etc! :)

Yeah, tell me about LJ. I'll try to cut my time short but I always stay there longer as I want *sigh* Time consuming indeed.
I like your banner a lot, yay for dragons in general :)
