Doctor Who: The Robot Revolution

Ncuti's Doctor is a delight as always.

Belinda is great, and feels like a Classic Who companion. That no-nonsense attitude and just rolling with what's happening in the moment, rather than questioning everything. (Like there's no: 'Why do they all speak English?')

But - this episode should have been a 4 episode Base Under Siege Classic Who serial.

Sasha: Rescue me and take me to the stars!
Me: Welp, she's dead.
Sasha: *dies not even five seconds later*
Me: There you go.

I got blindsided earlier this week by the news that it was back this weekend. I thought we had until May!??

It's so weird being this checked out on Doctor Who.

Yeah. I have accepted that I'll never be as interested as I was during the original RTD/Moffat era but I still enjoy watching.

Yes, I agree with your assessment. Just watched it. Rather love Belinda, and Nguti is as wonderful as always. (Although I am wondering if we saw her in the previous season?)

Also, I was as confused as Belinda, which may have been the point? Because we are in her point of view throughout.

I think it would have worked better if it had been spread out a bit more. OTOH? Less Alan Budd, the better. Although he made a good villain, and INCEL storylines seem to be a theme this week (I've been watching S1 and S2 Buffy and there's a lot of evil INCEL storylines in S1-S2 Buffy. Lots of Alan Budd's. )

Mmm, it's sort of almost inevitable with a teenage girl as a protagonist.

Apparently. Although it doesn't have to be? See Yellowjackets, where the teenage girls hunt and eat each other, and well any boy along for the ride.

I had almost forgotten is was due to air!

Ncuti plays The Doctor wonderfully and I liked how Belinda reacted to everything too. I loved their "Timey-wimey" - "Am I six" exchange :D

They really would! That would have been fun, seeing Belinda and the War Doctor group together against The Doctor :D :D
