I think the migration might not be swift, but it's inevitable. At least alternatives exist, which is good.

Yes that's definitely an important factor. I have a friend who has been defensive for years about using Facebook and claims to want to use other platforms. Yet when I've made suggestions I notice she never follows up. Whatever she says, she wants a big audience and that's harder to build on smaller sites.
