I admittedly know nothing about the history of trans. Although not at all surprised that the Nazi's burned books about them, they burned pretty much everything that didn't promote their own fascist ego-centric world view and trans like homosexual would go against that. I am surprised that people published transgender works that far back - that's kind of reassuring in a way, I honestly didn't think people were all that open-minded back then.
Thanks for the links and references.

Yeah, fame is not easy. Also she got radicalised online (you can literally follow the steps when you go back), and is too famous for anyone to talk her out of it...
It's made it kind of hard to care about anything she says or read anything she writes any longer. (Got rid of my Harry Potter books and DVDs ages ago for lack of space more than anything else.)
Yeah, it's shame. She could do a lot of good, but she has chosen a different path.

It's not terribly well-known unless you are familiar with the community.

Totally. Just look at how right-wingers these days treat trans people...

I like it when history is better than we thought. And of course if you go much further back, and look up different ancient cultures, they were much more broad-minded.
Thanks for the links and references.
You're welcome! And I added links to the post also, thank you for making me think of that.
