The Two Tenors
In this instance the tenors are Placido Domingo and Dimash.
Here is a little instagram video where they meet for the first time. (They are both judges on a talent show for young musicians called Virtuosos.)
Here is a video of Dimash talking about the experience and how this has been a dream of his since he was 5 years old:
And here is the performance - The Pearl Fishers’ Duet: Au fond du Temple Saint - Placido Domingo & Dimash Qudaibergen (2023):
ETA: And a delightful and insightful reaction here, from the Bangkok Voice Coach, who has sung the piece numerous times himself.
~
I also realised that I never posted a link to the chapter I posted last week. 🤦♀️ Work has been... well, it's been January.
All Breakages Must Be Paid For Chapter 12: All About Denial
(Today's chapter might be delayed. Re-writes are necessary...)

ETA: Apparently it is one of the most difficult songs in the tenor's songbook, so I think we can just slap all those who refer to those who love it as 'basic'. ;)

I was not aware that it was considered so difficult. Though if we're being catty, then, Mr. Domingo is singing ahead of the orchestra--the poor conductor!
But, much like the pumpkin spice latte, the Pear Fisher's duet is a masterpiece and there's a reason everybody loves it <3

😂 (Although again - hard to sing [well].)

He is like 80 years old, he can do what he wants. *g*
