I was in DC three years ago. It was weird. I was at home, and working from home. We were in the middle of an online meeting when we got interrupated with that story.

I remember a friend of mine had, shortly before, encouraged me to not look too much at the news, because he thought it was a lot of stress that wasn't likely to be anything I urgently needed to know. It turned out to be possibly the most ironic timing for advice like that ever.

There was a lot of refreshing news sites, and after things calmed down, I went out over the news few days. National Guard were everywhere. I've got a photo of a bunch of them sitting on the grass at the Georgetown Waterfront park.

We just sat in front of the TV and watched the news live, in a way we never normally do... it was very worrying. :(

Three years since the attempted coup, huh? Doesn't feel that long.

IKR? Although at the time in was still COVID. Maybe that's what's making the time feel weird, covid times were just this... blob of time.

Yeah, time has been weird since March 2020.

I have NO sense of when what happened since like... 2019.

I had to do the maths, like - three years? Really? But yeah. :( Let's hope 2024 is the year he DOESN'T get re-elected.

Although hey - maybe this will become like Bonfire Night here in the UK, and in future people will burn effigies of Trump on January 6th. ;)

We're mostly Norwegian-American, but from four generations back. A little Danish, from the 1600s. I would LOVE to live in Europe, believe me.

Four generations is a little far, probably... And I have no idea about immigration rules for Norway. Here's to things getting better for America. <3
