Interesting about the class action suit! U.S. workers don't tend to have many rights in terms of job security and the tech world is filled with startups with few rules, so I wasn't expecting they'd have many rights. I'm starting to wonder if tanking Twitter isn't his plan because all these decisions head in that direction...

There is a whole thread on that here. I think people are generally 50/50 on whether it's deliberate or if he's just that stupid.

How I hate Twitter now. I didn't like it before, and now I want only to be rid of it.

It's a hellscape populated by gremlins. But... it's also endless communities and stumbling across threads about medieval tapestries or the life cycle of an obscure beetle or digging into the semiotics of a poem or of people arguing about politics or of a video from Iran or Japan or Iceland (featuring protests or cherry tree blossom or an erupting volcano) or thread of trans people posting Before and After pictures in an endless continuation of gender euphoria or... And nowhere else has that mix.

Just think of Jorts the cat who started out as a story about how you shouldn't butter a cat, and is now a huge uniting force for Unionisation and workers rights.

There is a reason people love their stupid hellscape, despite the gremlins.

FFS, people already get harassed on Twitter. Moff left Twitter precisely because he was getting tagged in so many abusive Tweets, I can't imagine how bad it would have been if they could have actually messaged the poor man. Olly Alexander said he wouldn't be wearing clothes from a certain brand anymore because of Johnny Depp's presence at the fashion show and within minutes people were accusing him of not caring about abuse victims.

And I still buy CDs. :'))
