S8 of Buffy? Still not too excited - but Angel? I wants it! So, so badly! (Yes 'Not Fade Away' is the perfect ending to the show, but...)

Guess it just goes to show that I'm an Angel girl at heart. And of course Angel has Spike!

And he called in a canon S6 which makes me kind of giddy. See, I think - whether we like it or not - if Joss is penning (as in the BtVS S8) or intimately involved in the storyline even if its just outlining for the ultimate author (as in this proposed AtS S6), we kinda have to consider it canon. Anyway, I'm so very much excited about this and hope it comes to fruition.

If he can get Brian Lynch to do it that would be terrific as I was really impressed with Asylum. Not only did he have an excellent handle on Spike but he came up with some wonderfully weird original characters. The action was a bit murky at times but overall it's the only comic that's really felt like more than a gap filler for the TV series. I do hope this comes off.

I've preordered it from my local comic shop. We already had an arrangement that they would get me anything with Spike in the title *g*, but I specifically mentioned I wanted S8 so hopefully it will be waiting for me. If you've got a comic shop anywhere near you that's a good way to do it as they usually offer a discount on preorders.

Yay for AtS S6 comics! I just hope Gunn didn't die, and please, oh please, don't let Gunn be another One Eyed Xander. I saw that Angel-Gunn comic and seeing Gunn with an eyepatch turned me off.

Hmmm. It'd have fitted better when Gunn had the whole "I don't like vampires" attitude back in S1, S2 and S3 as it would be ironic for him to experience the life of vampires as one, of course he needs his soul as well for him to develop. Right now, Gunn has matured a lot and accepted Angel for who he is. I guess the only way to keep Gunn's body alive is to sire him, but then Gunn would disappear.

I do wish Gunn sticks around. Most of the original AtS cast had passed away. It's sad to have the last member in the Fang Gang (other than Angel) die as well.

And knowing that they'll (hopefully) get a whole season to themselves makes me a lot happier about them being used sparingly in S8. Crossovers are supposed to be infrequent.

Actually, I meant that since it's IDW instead of Dark Horse, it's a dollar more (at least in the States). I wonder, though - if he's gotten a lot of Buffy writers to do season 8, if he's trying to get the same people to do Angel, or if he's going to do it all himself and with comic people, or what.
