While I 100% support giant non-violent protests in not-pandemic times,
I can see a strong public health case for limiting large public protests in pandemic times.
If I was asked "should the chief health officer have the power to ban large in-person protests until hospitals stop melting down at the seams from new COVID cases?", I'd say/vote yes.
But I gather this bill was not anything along the lines of "if X new cases a day of COVID, no public protests; if Y new cases a day of COVID, public protests are fine" ?
