Happy New Year in... some hours' time! :)
First, some lovely wholesome content.

Daily Dimash: Thousands of Miles, A Common Dream + Never Land
Dimash sang in New Year in China on the CCTV channel with Thousands of Miles, A Common Dream (万里梦同心), a duet with Yingxi Zhang. (Link goes to his instagram.
ETA:
Gorgeous, gorgeous song. (Prerecorded, obvs, he spent NY chilling w/friends). The song is based on the poetry of Zhang Jiuling of the Tang Dynasty. The poem was written to comfort friends who are about to travel a long journey.)
And then I remembered this performance of 'Never Land' for the New Year Global Gala BTV (also China, but 2018) and had to include it. Completely the other side of the spectrum in every way possible. Yet I can't really argue with techno on top of a skyscraper with dancing polar bears! :D
Another performance here (Fantastic Carnival CCTV3), the set is incredible:

It's ridiculously warm today (15 degrees I think?). We never turned the heating on... Anyway, this made me laugh:

ETA: Our gingerbread house is finally finished. Darcy decided to model it after the house in Home Alone, and he has even put lights in it:

Oh I don't think so! Have a go - see if you can find ep 1 and see how you get on. Sure it's VERY British, but the comedy is all character based and just... *waves hands* Beyond delightful.

It's very entertaining, but we (well, Darcy & I) are also reading the novel and the vast differences are fascinating. Like, the basic premise apart there's hardly any overlap at all. I shall probably write something once I'm done with both. :)

Yeah, there were a lot of posts in the beginning saying it's nothing like the book, and woke etc. But I do love all the changes. It's a wonderful round perfect show.
So far I know about Miss Fix who was (male) Detective Fix in the book, the Indian princess he took home (and probably married even? Not sure on that), the Native Americans in the Wild West and that they did not travel by hot air balloon in the book but that it was added by the movie with David Niven and everyone has to do it now.
And the train being ripped apart was a ship in the book?
The episode in Hong Kong has a very memorable scene that sprung a lot of fan fiction authors into action, because of the whumping ;)
I honestly had not expected them to go that far in the show. Sadly it does not have any repercussions in the next episode as it should have — thus the fanfictions.
