A thing a lot of people don't seem to be aware of is that the proportion of astronomers who believe there is alien life of some sort in the universe is almost 100%. It's just the proportion who think they've *dropped by* that's almost 0.

Perseverance is amazing but that video is misleading and/or a fake, unfortunately. Specifically the wind is added in (from Earth?) and it's a mosaic of Curiosity images; Perseverance has only released still images so far and I'm not sure whether it actually has the capability to take or transmit video. (Info here.)

Why would any aliens want to come near this planet while humans are the dominant species? We can't even deal with superficial differences in humanity. The reaction to actual aliens would be so much worse.
