Lockdown Update Day 235 (Finally!)

I've been on a trip down memory lane... The world has changed, but oh, I remember those days. Have been listening to this one on repeat for days:

("But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.")

Good luck America. ♥ Goodness knows we could use some hope over here...

Round-up from Channel 4. Money quote: "Now, even after Obama was elected for the first time, in 2008, you just didn't see crowds like this. This feels more like the end of a regime than the end of a collectively elected government. The sense of collective relief here is quite extraordinary."

ALSO THIS BECAUSE IT'S FUNNY.

ETA2: Damn. This is powerful.

They were dancing in the streets in New York City. In my neighborhood, people line up along Ocean Parkway and Church Avenue - a major cross section, with noise-makers, and cheered on passing cars - who honked and cheered in response for about two hours. Then people went to Prospect Park and partied. Times Square was filled with people celebrating. Fort Green, Brooklyn's streets were packed. And in front of the White House on the newly renamed Black Lives Matter Parkway, People were celebrating.

It was amazing.

And tonight, I listened to Biden and Harris's President Elect speeches - and it was such a relief to hear someone who was coherent, kind, unifying, professional, who could speak in sentences, didn't insult anyone, and didn't make me want to cringe or run screaming out of the room.
