elisi: Edwin holding a tiny snowman (Jekyll)
Forgot to say - I've been watching Jekyll, and finally finished it this weekend.

I feel like I ought to have a lot of thoughts, but mostly what I feel is... right. Justified. Vindicated.

Because Jekyll is Moffat, concentrated. Moffat Squared. Its ALL metaphor. (Sometimes at the expense of other things - I'm not surprised it didn't do well.) And the thing is, that watching Doctor Who, I often worry about reading too much into stuff, y'know? So often, something which seems significant to the viewers turns out to be just a fluke, an unplanned added extra. But looking at Jekyll I am confident that everything I see (at least 95% of it) is absolutely deliberate. It's allllll the same themes. (The Apple Orchard anyone?)

I'll probably return to this at some later point. For now I just wanted to say - MIRRORS! And PEOPLE IN BOXES. And FAMILIES! And Claire! ♥
