Thanks to the miracle of youtube, I bring you last night's 'Have I Got News For You', with Benedict Cumberbatch! (Looking fiiiiiiiiiiiiine. Don't think I'll ever tire of those cheekbones...) For those unfamiliar with the programme it's a topical comedy news quiz, and somewhat of an institution. This is the first ep of series 40!

ETA: The lovely blonde woman is Victoria Coren, btw, who is pretty much made of awesome - she's a writer, presenter and poker player: Smart, beautiful and very self assured! And, in a previous programme, she gave Ian Hislop (the bald one) one of the best putdowns I've ever seen! (Here, go to 3:45.)

Another ficathon!

Except this one comes with a twist...



We all joke about "fannish osmosis," and this comment ficathon is going to put that to the test. The object is to write a ficlet for a fandom you're not a part of based solely on what you've learned from your friends list and fandom at large. Silly, serious, the tone and approach are up to you. The only rule is that you can't write for a fandom that you have actually seen the source material for.

This? Is hysterical. (Plus the descriptions are fantastic!) If you're looking for a black hole to vanish into this weekend, this might just be your best bet! :)

ETA: Also, I ♥ fandom to infinity for the fact that THIS is one person's impression of Classic Who! Damn straight!
