elisi: Edwin and Charles (me by... me)
This is sort of for [livejournal.com profile] deborahmm, but I'm sure other people would find it interesting too. It's an article from The Sunday Times, looking at immigration, the East End and British culture - is there such a thing as 'a real cockney'? How English are our traditions really? I found this fascinating and encouraging!

I should probably add that Darcy and I lived in the East End for 3 years (in Stepney Green, Limehouse and Stratford), and enjoyed it very much! :)
