And finally, art! Finnish author and artist Tove Jansson, Before the Masquerade, 1943(x) Why are her paintings not more wellknown? Of course everyone is familiar with the Moomins (♥) but we shouldn't overlook her other work!

Ooh, yes, Tove Jansson is so fantastic in so many ways! Being Finnish, I've known about the Moomins since forever, but I've only really become more familiar with her art in the recent years, and I really enjoy it. Her fiction for adults is lovely as well. It's mostly short stories, some novels though they often read like connected short stories; I'm not usually a great short story reader, but I love hers. And I recently read the published collection of her letters. She was such an incredible, smart, badass lady in so many ways, I love her. I don't know if the letters are available in languages other than Swedish (her native language) and Finnish, though. But she's great.

And when my mum came to visit in Norway, she brought me a bag made out of Moomin fabric with the old book illustrations that is mine and it's unique and I adore it to bits. Snufkin is just... my happy place. Everything about Snufkin is perfect.

Also, that art is gorgeous????
