Christmas on LJ just keeps giving! Yesterday I got a Christmas card from ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
spikefan (Thank you Didi!), and this morning a parcel arrived from avrelia! Little Miss M is enjoying the book very much indeed and the chocolate is *delicious* [::takes another bite::] You're all far too good to me! *lots of hugs*
In other news, Darcy's friend C came yesterday and stayed overnight, so I wasn't able to get online. Not that having people staying isn't a good thing, but I learned a very important lesson:
Do not watch Torchwood with two blokes!
(They r in ur houses mocking ur pretty boys)
Since we'd not watched it yet we thought we'd watch the finale, and every single bit of yummy UST was killed *ded* by mockery! Woe.
That said, there was much to squee about (and a few things to mock), but I'm not writing any thoughts down yet, since I missed the last 15 minutes thanks to The Cherub who woke up and *yelled*! A lot.
Will run again and attempt to skim my flist and hopefully write a little more. Chapter 5 is almost finished, but I think I'll have to split it... this thing just keeps on growing!

I find it hard enough watching it with one bloke actually so what it must be like with two I dread to think. Let's just say J is generally voluble in his dislike. So far he's admitted to quite liking "Out of Time" (if that's the right title) and "Captain Jack Harkness" but hasn't liked the other episodes at all!

We really, really have to get together sometime! J and Darcy would get on *so* well! Although it isn't just Torchwood that Darcy singles out - pretty much any remark between Tara and Willow f.ex. ("I am you know - yours.") makes him add his own little interpretations ("Shag me now!")

Darcy *really* didn't like 'Out of Time' (nothing happened!) and he thought the whole gay thing was tedious. His favourite so far is the one with the alien eye. It's sci-fi, so he wants aliens and lasers and *fun*! And preferebly none of that gay stuff.

Poor J was too devastated that Willow was with Tara and therefore no longer available for the likes of him. His "shag me now!" would have been "shag *me* now!" *g*. Have I mentioned that Willow was J's favourite character... He turned in to a bit of a Spike fan at the end but once upon a time it was all about Willow.
It's sci-fi, so he wants aliens and lasers and *fun*!
I don't need the aliens (BBC aliens always suck) and the lasers, but I could do with a bit more fun, which is odd really as I love Battlestar Galactica and that's not precisely a laugh a minute!

I think that's fairly common amongst male fans. Hence the popularity of 'Doppelgangland' (which is a wonderful episode, but you and I don't really get the same enjoyment out of leather-clad Willow...). Darcy is more of a SMG fan thgouh (luckily for me), and it was because he liked Kirsty Swanson in the original that we first tuned into the series!

You're quite right. I think part of my problem with Torchwood is that I really wasn't expecting a series quite so dour as a spinoff to Dr Who. It will be interesting to see whether they try and lighten it up a bit in Season 2.

Hee! Oh and one of Darcy's big problems with S6 is the lack of unclad Buffy. Plenty of nekkid!Spike for us, so he thinks it's unfair that he doesn't get anything pretty to look at too. ;)

Hey! Did you read this post? I've been lost to the dark side... *g* Actually I think one major difference is the fact that Jack/Ianto is proper pairing and not just a bit of subtext that can be twisted this way or that.
And we all have hope for S2... I mean it can't be worse than 1! ;)

I thought from the start that there could be a lot of fun UST, but then they apparently killed that *ded* with the stupid cyberwoman episode, and I sorta lost hope.
