Big Damn Heroes!
I've been getting the baby to sleep and reading about The Browncoat's Back-up Bash. I swear these people and actors are just utterly amazing! (There's a link at the bottom of the page that takes you to Whedonesque where there are updates and links to photos etc.)
Spent most of the day yesterday in a car, but it was definitely worth it to see the newest family member! Sooooo cute and *tiny* - The Cherub is a giant in comparison. Newborns are just so utterly perfect - so small and delicate and yet they're this whole little person... *deep sigh* Went to a Chinese restaurant for tea and my fortune cookie said 'You will receive something nice in the mail'. Well I happen to know that that is very true! :)
Have been busy today with tidying, decorating the tree and pther bits and pieces - hopefully we can get the house done tomorrow.
Finally, because it made me laugh: Today Little Miss M wanted to try on my lipstick, which led to tales of American Beauty Pageants for children. I attempted to describe what they were like, when Darcy cut in (in that way he has of saying *completely* inappropriate things now and again): "And then you have the mom's at the back yelling 'Kill the bitch, Darlene!'" My response was of course "Don't *do* that in front of the children!" Impish Girl's response was a furrowed brow and then a question: "Kill the dictionary???" There was much laughter.

They suspend kindergarten kids for kissing another kid on the schoolyard, but, hey, my two year old sings about being a vampire laying in a whole six foot deep and let me rest in peace and being in love with a slayer, way cute. Okay, so she doesn't understand the words yet. But still. Forcing my grown-up hobby unto a kid... I don't get it.
Hope I didn't offend there, but I HAD to but in. This rubbed me all the wrong way somehow. Maybe because I've read too much NC-17 about that special sexy vampire... *shudders*
